As you all know last weekend I spent in Budapest. I was invited by the amazing Hilton hotel to experience the best this amazing town has to offer. The best thing is I got to drive the new Toyota CHR!!! I have never driven a Hybrid before and I must say this was a one of a kind experience! First of all – the car looks really awesome. When we pulled out to the petrol station literaly everyone who worked there came out to take a look at the car. It is very vicious on the outside but smooth from the inside. The sound system in the bew Toyota CHR is sublime. Karla and me listened to Christmas songs on the way there and we were really having a jolly good time.
As you may have noticed, this time Charles didn’t accompany me to the trip because it is christmas time and he is super busy working with his clients, so he took a brake from being an instagram husband and dedicated his time to work. So this was the first time I went with someone else, and that someone else is my assistant Karla.
Look at that beast!
The drive took three hours and twenty minutes. It cost me 12 euros in petrol to get to Budapest and I paid 10 euros for the vigneta to use Hungarian highways. It is really nothing! Hybrid really works out well in the long run!
We arrived to Budapest at 10:30h to the Hilton Budapest city hotel. Everything went smoothly and our room was ready. Now I am not going to lie, the Hilton Budapest city is not the top noch modern design, it rather follows a classical art deco interior that was very famous before. This is the first time ever I stayed in a twin room. Our room was on the top executive floor. We even got access to the executive lounge. Executive lounge is just a semi private lounge area with coffees, food and drinks… In the room we were greated with some hngarian products.
But time was going quickly and we had some lunch in the lobby before heading to the amazing boat ride on the DANUBE river. The weather was cold and it was quite windy, so we were looking forward to getting on a warm boat.
Parlament building is by far the most exciting thing in architecture on the river. It is a gorgeus buliding that is stunning during the day and during the night.
Of course we had some wine on the river. Who doesn’t like a warm cup of wine in winter?
After a lovely river cruise down the Danube river, we went off to the Christmas markets. They were maybe 4 minutes walking distance from where the boat left us. We had some time to shop, drink mulled wine and explore the advent in Budapest.
As any advent goes there were things you couldn’t find anywhere else. it was cold, but everyone likes Christmas time so the vibe was very positive.
This guy made my day!
After the Advent we had some nice food but because we were very tired, we decided to go to sleep earlier.
Just to keep things interesting, I didn’t want to put everything in one post, so in my next post you can read about my visit to the farmers market and how i Learned to cook some delicious Hungarian food!
*My stay and experiences were complimentary as I was a guest of Hilton hotel, but all opinions are my own.
