Dorsett hotel – Shepards Bush London

I have put my reviews on pause, since I have had a baby. You probably noticed most of my posts now are baby oriented. Being a mom is literally the only thing I do at the moment. We did however use my mom this time, to enjoy a trip back to London for 5 days. On this trip I got to stay at two hotels with wonderful views over London. I usually make my posts differently, more like a diary, but for this time i decided to slice the post down in 5 important bits, so you can easily find what you are looking for.

3.Close proximity

5.Overall experience and thoughts

1.The Room

Our room was located on the 7th floor, and to be exact this is the room 761. It is categorised as a suite, meaning that it has a separate lounging area next to the bedroom area. It is more spacious than the standard room and has a higher view. Bedroom has an en suite , and a really epic view going 180 degres. It’s quite something. Super cozy bed was an extra plus.

Having a suite also gives you access to the executive lounge. They serve complimentary chosen drinks and bites to those who use the space. When I went there it was empty, so I took a chance to take a couple of photos. Only thing missing was the music.

In close proximity of the hotel, well just around the corner to be exact, there is a really nice pub. We grabbed a couple of beers there before crossing the road to try some Brew Dog. For those who are not big drinkers, only 5 minute walk away from the hotel is the Westfield shopping centre, where you can eat and drink and shop till you drop. Shepards bush is a great location for those who are coming to be touristic. It is not slap in the centre, but for that reason it is more cozy and offers different perspective. You are in central neighbourhoods only a couple of tube stops away.

Dorsett in Shepard’s bush is quite architecturally pleasant from the inside. The open space above the bar is definitely one to call for a selfie. Warm brownish, gold and grey tones leave a nice sense of calmness.

Breakfast area is very nice, offer on the buffet table is quite predictable for a breakfast, they also serve some dishes a la carte. My room had breakfast included, but usually you do’t get it by default.

Hotel also has a gym, not big but smells like it has not been used yet.

I really loved the location of the hotel. Because it was a bit further out the rooms were a bit bigger. There were many things in close proximity, and it wasn’t crowded with tourists. The staff was polite and helpful and rooms were cleaned on time. I would suggest this hotel, to those who have maybe already been to London, and are not obsessed with seeing all the tourist attractions. Hotel is near to all of them, but it will be a great choice for someone doing business, or just coming in to have a chilled week with no stress.
