I had a really great time at the airport!!
I can’t believe I said that but it is true! So ladies…this seemed to be a complete secret, until now. Seriously, I never knew this was even possible. Basically if you are a lazy shopper, or just really hate walking through the stores ,there is a complimentary service provided by Heathrow for you. Oh my, it is so great!
Let me start by saying. I applied for the personal shopping experience in Heathrow. As soon as I got to the airport, I was contacted on my phone by my personal shopper. Charles was a bit worried about my personal shopping experience (I totally understand him) so before I departed to my wonderland I said my goodbyes to my lover with promises that I will not melt my plastic ,,,too much. I even wore this cute Pink Coat by Marx for the first time since buying it. I wasn’t sure if the pink would suit me as I am not really a pink person, but I must say I love this one, it makes everyone happy. Even the guy at the security was like ”nice coat”. Cheers dude 🙂 But my boots got some attention too. I do love them…

I got to terminal 2 and headed off to meet my personal shopper. Mawadah was a very pretty young lady who met me in front of Harrods. As we small talked about some things, she took me through security really quickly (fast lane) as we were going on to the terminal 5. Mawadah is a really big fashion lover. I have not briefed her on what I wanted but she took the time to look at my Instagram to see what I was kind of wearing. We had an interesting chat about all girl stuff and I as we passed through the hallways of the airport, we got to the ‘’Personal shopper’ lounge.
The room was big. Quite a luxurious set up. A nice sofa with champagne, dressing table, rack and a changing room. I felt comfortable sitting there. Mawadah has taken the time to personally select a couple of items that she thought I would like and I must say she was on the spot. There was not one thing I did not like. I did have my mind set on a thing tough. I wanted a purse. I am struggling with bags in my closet, as I almost own none and when I do, they are always black.
One of the items that caught my eye was a small Valentino purse in Black. I kind of liked it but wanted to stay away from the Black. I asked Mawadah if there is any other colour. Of course she knew where and what because she spends most of her days in that airport talking to people like me. On the way through the airport I learned that there is really no rule to costumers when it comes to personal shopping. Some people come 6-7 hours before to the airport just to shop. An why wouldn’t they? When you buy brands and get duty free, you should enjoy it really. I guess with the pound dropping and duty being off, it is quite affordable to buy those designer things.
And this… this is a social mirror. You can take photos of the outfits you choose and post it directly to your facebook. Your friends then ,can give you opinions.
I finally got to the shop. I had a look through Celine and some other brands, before coming back to Valentino and taking that small red purse. I just thought to myself…if I am buying Valentino, then it should be red really. Over all I had a very fun experience. I got to roam through the terminals in ease, I had some company , my time was saved by having someone there who knows where everything is, and there were other perks, like champagne, going through fast lane, and killing time. If you intend on buying anything while you are away, I would suggest you wait until you get to Heathrow. Seriously, that treatment was five star, and it was completely free. Looking forward to seeing you soon again Heathrow!
