Amsterdam – The Albus Hotel

During my stay in Amsterdam I slept in a lovely hotel called The Albus City Centre. Albus hotel is a design boutique hotel located in central Amsterdam in walking distance of everything you will need. The reason why I choose Albus hotel in Amsterdam  is because of it’s interesting interior, great fine dining restaurant Senses and cozy rooms.

ROOMS

Room I stayed in was Splendid City room. It contained a queen double bed, flatscreen tv opposite of the bed, working desk and typical hotel amenities such as coffee machine and necessary toiletries.  Bathroom also had a walk in shower. I really like the room because it was very bright and I love purple.

Bed was really comfortable. It was like sleeping on a fluffy cloud, and our bed got made every morning after breakfast as well as the rest of the room.

Smart room also contained a working desk which was next to a window so there is a lot of natural light and no need to turn the lamp on. Great space for those who need to do some work in the morning. I wrote most of my blog posts on that table and edited my photos.

Next to the bed, phone and a coffee machine. I haven’t used the coffee machine, as I drank my coffee downstairs in their Senses restaurant during breakfast. Their barman makes amazing coffee!

Senses Restaurant

In the extension of the lobby is Senses restaurant. During mornings you have a typical hotel breakfast with hot and cold food, as well as coffee’s and juices. The restaurant is an intimate cozy atmosphere, very colourful and does not hold a lot of tables.

After breakfast you can enjoy an amazing fine dining experience in Senses. My suggestion is you go for the surprise menu because you will not be disappointed.

Final thoughts

Except this hotel being exceptionally clean and having great service, there is one thing I found very irritating was the lift. There is only one, and it really takes long for it to get up and down so my suggestion is to pick a room on lowers floors and take the stairs when you need to. Other than that I really have no objections on the hotel it is amazing.

  • Service is great,
  • Staff is one of the best I have ever met.
  • Really clean rooms,
  • Amazing food,
  • Superb Location
  • Nice decor
