Finally travelling again. This time I went to Rovinj to weekend media festival. I went for business and man I was happy it was in Rovinj. Rovinj is a small city in Istrian region of Croatia. It is simply a charming small city with a lot of scenery and amazing food to offer. I am going to keep this very simple and make sure that after you read this, you will be thinking about this little place for a loooong time.
Let’s start with some awesome food.
Istrian people are so very famous for amazing food and wine, and of course the truffles so I would be crazy not to try some. I was there with a couple of business partners and friends and of course – Charlie. As soon as we arrived to Rovinj we went to a little restaurant calle Giannino.
Giannino is located very close to the center but also away from all the noise. It may not seem very attractive from the outside but don’t judge a book by it’s cover. We requested from the waiter to surprise us with a choice of food and we were not disappointed at all!
Graciano is just of the main promenade and it also looks a bit shoddy from the outside but it is a family run business and as usual the food was great, I must specifically praise the amazing meat carpaccio which was sublime. The service was very attentive and they did overdose us on medica which caused the rest of the night to be quite interesting. I had three desserts….I hate myself!
La choncha is a tex mex restaurant and even though it is nothing new to most of you the setup was really cool. There is a big stage in the middle where the band was playing and you can even eat behind the stage and be a part of the performance, interesting idea overall.
Let’s stop with the food and get to some everyday lounging and enjoying.
If you are a sunset addict like me, you will absolutley thrive in Rovinj , the sunsets are easily put – Epic! Lounging around the promenade is awesome and you will find a lot of really cool little bars where you can enjoy your prosseco or just a cup of coffe.
STOP THIS BEAUTIFULNESS!
I bet this place was not even near your radar and I also know that after seeing this photos you are thinking about visiting it. Do not think too much, there is a Croatia Airlines flight to Pula and from there it is a short ride to Rovinj. I booked my trip with amazing STA PUTOVANJA who have been very helpful as usual so I would recommend you booking with their local office. Go to Rovinj, enjoy the sunsets, enjoy the food and relax with your loved ones. You will not regret it, ever!
