I have some fantastic news to share with all of you!!!
This year I will be on London fashion week’s catwalk! That’s right! I am opening and closing the show for Ivana Pilja!!!
Ivana Pilja is a Serbian designer whose imagination in fashion is so wild that it makes reality a let down. Famous for her niche avant-garde look , she has taken over the hearts of many celebrities who are now proudly wearing her creations in music videos , on stage and photo-shoots. Some include; Lily Allen, Dita von teese, Paloma Faith, Ellie Goulding etc.
Ivana Pilja has been published in many high fashion magazines such as Vogue, Harper bazar, Elle etc… and even the biggest most famous celebrity stylist are using her clothes on daily basis. You can imagine how honoured I am to be opening and closing Ivana’s show. Her show is on Tuesday 22.9.2015 at FreeMason’s Hall at 16:30h
My love for everything different has been known for a long time. I have passed trough fazes and wore clothes some people could not even imagine wearing. I just love artists who are daring and different and believe in themselves so much that they make other people believe in them, just by being persistent in their dreams. I consider myself to be that kind of person as well.
But all of this would never happen if it weren’t for my first blog post, where I featured amazing Nina’s hair parlour. Nina’s hair parlour is the first hair saloon dedicated only to vintage hair. So anyone who has passion for anything before 70’s, Nina is making it happen. Her salon was featured in Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Elle Magazine and many others. You can check out Nina’s saloon here or read my post about her saloon when she did my hair. Nina will be doing the amazing hair for this show using Oribe products , which was designed by Versace and the scent was made by Tom Ford. Sounds like something I could eat.
One person that works with Nina is the amazing and talented Issidora who is also going to be doing make-up for this show. She did make up for many celebrities and is also going to be doing ivana Pilja’s show using A la carte London makeup, which has been producing high quality handmade, make up since 1973. Issidora is the one who gave me a call and asked me if I would like to participate because Ivana thought it is a great idea. I was thinking about it for exactly 0.0000001 seconds.
So , I am very excited about this! I always wanted to see the backstage of London Fashion Week. I have worn many Croatian designers in my time and have cat-walked quite a lot, but never something like this. To be honest I am terrified I will fall on my face. Opening and closing the show is usually only reserved for top models who are currently killing the fashion industry. Press is always sitting in the first row waiting to see who is the girl that will come out first, because usually it means she has got high profile and it determines her future career. I am not a model, nor am I top. And it is not my wish to be a model. But just being able to open the show, so I can see their confused faces when I come out is enough for me. ‘’Who is this short, tattooed weird girl?’’ – ‘’Why is she opening the show?’’.
Fashion has always been about pushing the boundaries, so who knows; maybe after this we start a trend of short tattooed models opening the shows.
