Bill’s London Restaurant

Like all of my reviews, this one was not planned either. I usually just walk in to places by accident and then decide to write about them. This weekend I was at borough market. I know everyone loves the Borough market but I was never really a fan of standing in long cue’s then eat standing up. I like to enjoy my meals sitting down. Not because I am a snob, but because I eat like a child. Standing up is bound to bring some stains on my clothes, and let’s be clear about one more thing, I am not that good at cleaning clothes either. So after the hustle and bustle of the market, and after I finally bought a loaf of bread (which by the way, was really heavy) I stumbled across Bill’s in a street called Clink Street. From the outside it looked really tiny, but inside it is quite spacious. We walked in to the cozy decor and grabbed a seat. We had a few moments to ourselves to look over the menu and I was drooling over the table how hungry I was.

Since my friend came to visit from Croatia we took him out to some places around London , and that is how we ended up in Bills. To summarize my order, it was a fish finger sandwich. I know you may be asking yourself :”why the hell is she reviewing a sandwich?” . Well let me justify. First of all , this is England, anyone heard of sir Sandwich? Second of all, fish fingers. Do I need to explain any further how British of me it was to eat this sandwich.

First time in my life I ate a fish finger sandwich was in London. I was so skeptical about it, and I bet half of my Mediterranean family would not even consider to try it. Honestly, I freaking love fish finger sandwiches!! I am seriously and completely hooked on to this hangover remedy. If you have not tried one, google it. It is really easy to make.

My sandwich arrived and it did not disappoint, next to it, there was a small portion of fries. Guys ordered Bill’s burgers which were falling apart all over the table. But in a good way, you know like Marks and Spencer’s ads? Even though the place was extremely busy, the service was quick and meals were done right. My sandwich consisted of four fish fingers ,squeezed in two toasts topped by tartar sauce, ketchup, bits of salad and spring onions.

I really loved the sandwich. But to be honest, can you really make a bad fish finger sandwich? Can you? Really? If you can tell me how? Moving on. I know I can’t judge the place based on a sandwich, but having some serious food envy and looking over the table next to me, the salads looked delicious as well. I haven’t tried them, but they looked really good! Okay, maybe I was too hungry but I believe they were good. Do you think I will get fat from all the eating I do?
