Electric house is just one of many membership clubs owned by Soho house. In their clubs you can easily find yourself rubbing elbows with some of the biggest celebrities. It is well known that memberships are very required and also very hard to get. You have to know a member to be a member, and they have to nominate you. Also you will need to reach deep in to your pocket to pay for the membership. I can’t say what the price is 100% as it changes from year to year, but you are looking at about £2000 a year. Taking photos and talking on the phone is forbidden, but if you can get away with it like I did then you are lucky. They hold many great events including courses and speeches from influential entrepreneurs which can be great fun and educational. Simply put, it is a great way to network, socialize and have great night out.
We were just walking around the Portobello road and decided to have a lunch there so I took the opportunity to write a little bit about it. Food in Electric house, if you ask me , is by far better then in any other clubs they own. They serve you freshly baked bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar , while you browse the menu to find that delicious meal that you are so hungry for. Since the summer is near and I am watching my figure (not) , I decided to go for grilled salmon and ordered some steamed vegetables on the side. Charlie was being a typical man as he usually is, and ordered a steak. I really enjoyed my meal and the surroundings I was in. The chefs and waiters were having fun as well! They were chatting away and constantly taking care of their guests. As I was unable to photograph, I took a few snippets of the surrounding area while no one was looking (sorry guys!).
After the nice meal we had, we moved over to the open area upstairs where they have a nice little shabby garden. I enjoyed my glass of vino in these cute surroundings. Most of London bars have very envious interiors and exteriors like this. The heaters were keeping me warm and I noticed that they made really cute decorations that almost remind me of the summer sky at night. I took this chance to wear my grey pointy shoes which I bought in ”Office shoes” a few months back. They looked good with my outfit but I had to plaster every inch of the back of my foot as they are really cruel. Being a woman I decided to suffer a bit (and bleed). What is life if you can’t wear what you want?
The coat I am wearing I got from a webshop called Gedengni and I liked it for the color variations that it has. Their website is really good if you are looking for affordable pieces that look cool and I can guarantee that all their clothes is exactly like in the pictures. My jeans haven’t had a good year, actually to be more specific I bought them from Miss Sixty and they ripped maybe a few months after I bought them.
As the Vino kicked in and Portobello road was quite interesting, I burned off some of my lunch by trying on some very cool masks. Browsing around the shop we stumbled upon some pretty cool things and tried almost everything on. Belts, hats, sunglasses you named it I wore it. In the end Charlie got hooked on a really cute little bracelet watch with wings so we decided it would be a good buy.
The watch is not branded so I can’t really tell you how to get it , it is just from a little Turkish shop that was down the road. I couldn’t resist the color and the wings are quite a cool touch as well. Oh! Ignore my starving manicure! I am just lazy to get it fixed and to be honest, I still don’t know a good nail saloon in London, (Do tell me some good ones if you know)
For those of you who are not in London, I must say it is a very fun city and you can do a lot of cool things, but unless you know exactly where you are going you might end up distracted by all the offerings. I have been here for a year and sometimes my trip to buy milk takes me to the most unusual places. If you have ADHD it will be extremely confusing for you but you will have great memories.
I love London!
